Getting Started
Who can become an ITZA Vault Agent?

ITZA Vault Agents are notaries, legal professionals, and other vetted individuals who are able to perform reliable in-person identity verification. You must be able to demonstrate professional credentials during your own onboarding process. If you are unsure whether your background qualifies, contact us and we will confirm before you commit to anything.

What does the agent onboarding process involve?

You set up your Agent profile through the ITZA Vault app. You will enter your personal details, upload your identification, and provide supporting credentials such as your notary commission, professional licence, or insurance documentation. This information is used only to verify your identity and credentials. Once you are approved, your documents are deleted from our systems. Only your verified status and account remain.

What does the founding tier cost and what does it include?

Founding tier membership secures you a higher permanent earnings share and no annual membership fee. The founding tier investment goes directly toward building the cooperative's platform, business integrations, and operations. Later tiers carry an initial fee of $98 and an annual membership fee of $15, and come with a lower earnings share. Full tier details are available on the membership page.

Can I upgrade my tier later if I join at a lower level?

No. Your tier is permanent from the moment you join. It applies to every identity you verify for the life of your participation. This is why founding tier positions carry more weight - they cannot be replicated or upgraded into later.

How Earnings Work
How and when do I actually get paid?

Earnings are generated when a business requests a verification of someone in your portfolio and that person authorizes the request through their app. The business pays a verification fee, and your share is allocated automatically based on your tier. Payment timing and method details are set out in your membership agreement. You do not need to invoice or chase anything - the process is handled through the platform.

What determines how much I earn?

Three things determine your earnings:

  • The size of your portfolio - the number of people you have verified
  • How frequently those identities are reused - driven by how many businesses integrate with ITZA Vault and how active your verified users are
  • Your tier - which sets your permanent share of each verification fee

You control the first factor directly. The second depends on network growth. The third is locked in when you join.

Are the earnings projections on the site guaranteed?
These figures are illustrative only and are not a guarantee of future earnings.

The projections shown assume specific verification volumes and business adoption rates that will vary in practice. Recurring revenue depends on actual business integrations being live, users authorizing reuse, and your own consistent effort in building your portfolio. Results will differ between agents. We display projections only to illustrate how the model works mathematically, not to predict what any individual will earn.

Can I earn anything before businesses are integrated?

Not from verification reuse, no. Recurring income only flows when participating businesses are requesting verifications. During Phase 2 - the founding agent network phase - the primary activity is building your portfolio of verified users so that when integrations go live, your base is already in place. Agents who build large portfolios early are positioned to benefit most once reuse activity begins.

Legal and Professional Obligations
What are my legal obligations when I verify someone?

You are acting in your private professional capacity, as an Agent of ITZA Vault. Your obligations are to perform the in-person review honestly and accurately - checking that the person in front of you and the information they entered on the ITZA Vault App matches their identification document and that the document appears genuine. You are not making legal certifications beyond what your professional role already entails and you are not acting as a notary or using your seal - this is legal in all states.

What happens if I verify someone incorrectly or fraudulently?

Agents are responsible for the accuracy of the verifications they perform. Verifying someone you know to be misrepresenting their identity would be a serious breach of the platform's terms and potentially of your professional obligations as a notary or licensed professional. Agents found to have acted dishonestly face removal from the cooperative. The verification record on the blockchain is permanent and auditable. Honest mistakes are a different matter - the system is designed around good-faith professional judgment, not perfection. If you are uncertain about a document or identity, you decline the verification.

Could participating affect my notary commission or professional licence?

ITZA Vault is designed so that agents act in their private professional capacity rather than as state-commissioned officers performing notarial acts - there's legally nothing preventing you from doing this. However, we recommend reviewing your state's notary handbook or seeking a brief professional opinion before joining if you have any concern about this.

Your Portfolio and Long-Term Position
What happens to my portfolio if I stop being active as an agent?

The identities you have verified remain associated with your account. If reuse activity occurs and you remain a member in good standing, your earnings share continues to be allocated. You are not required to be actively verifying new users in order to receive income from identities already in your portfolio. Your membership status and payment arrangements must remain current for allocations to continue.

Can I sell or transfer my portfolio?

The possibility of transitioning or selling a managed portfolio is part of the long-term design of the cooperative. This feature is active from the first day you join, however, the mechanism that permits its movement to a new entity is not available in the current phase. When it becomes available, it will be subject to platform rules as well as any state and or federal legal requirements. We include it as part of the model's direction and will make it available soon.

What happens to my portfolio if ITZA Vault closes down?

This is a fair question and one we take seriously. As a Colorado Limited Cooperative Association, ITZA Vault has legal obligations to its members that govern how assets are handled in a dissolution scenario. The verification records themselves sit on the ITZA Blockchain, which is an open source distributed ledger - meaning the records are not dependent on ITZA Vault as a company remaining operational.

Practical Day-to-Day Questions
How long does it take to verify a user?

The process takes around five minutes once the user has downloaded the app and entered their details. You review their information, compare it against their physical ID, confirm everything matches, and scan the QR code in their app. That is it. The blockchain record is created automatically.

Do I need to be in a specific location to verify users?

No. You can verify users anywhere you are able to meet with them in person. There is no fixed office requirement. Many agents will naturally integrate ITZA Vault into their existing notary or professional practice - verifying clients during appointments they are already conducting. Others may offer it as a standalone service. How and where you operate is your choice.

What do I tell someone who asks what happens to their personal information?

You can tell them honestly: their information is never uploaded. The app captures the information needed for the verification check but nothing is sent to a central server or stored in a database. What gets recorded on the blockchain is a cryptographic proof that verification took place - not the information itself, none of the personal details. Their data stays on their own phone. This is one of the strongest selling points of the system and it is genuinely true.

Is there a minimum number of verifications I need to perform?

There is no mandatory minimum. However, the model only generates meaningful recurring value through accumulation. A portfolio of a handful of verified users is unlikely to generate significant income regardless of reuse rates. Agents who treat it seriously and build consistently over time are the ones who will see the system's full potential. Think of it like any professional practice - the more you put in early, the more you stand to benefit later.

What ITZA Vault Is
What is ITZA Vault and why does it exist?

ITZA Vault is a privacy-first identity verification cooperative. It exists to solve a problem most people experience but rarely question: having to upload your personal documents over and over to every bank, app, marketplace, or platform that asks for them.

Every time you do that, another copy of your sensitive information enters another system. ITZA Vault lets you get verified once - in person, by a real professional - and then reuse that verified status later when other services need to confirm your identity, without uploading your documents again.

Is it free for me as a consumer?

Yes. The ITZA Vault app is free to download and free to use. Getting verified by an Agent is free. There are no subscription fees or charges to the consumer for using your verified identity on participating platforms. The cost of verification is paid by the businesses that use it, not by you.

Who are the Agents who verify me?

ITZA Vault Agents are vetted professionals - primarily notaries and legal professionals - who have gone through their own verification and credential check before being approved to verify others. They are real people acting in their professional capacity, not automated systems or offshore call centres. This is a deliberate design choice: a human who can look you in the eye and inspect your documents in person is significantly harder to fool than an automated upload system.

Privacy and Data Safety
What happens to my personal documents and information?

Your documents are never uploaded. The ITZA Vault app does not send your passport, driving licence, or other identification to any server. The Agent reviews your physical ID in person and checks it against what you have entered into the app. Once the verification is confirmed, a cryptographic proof is recorded on the blockchain. That proof confirms the verification happened - it does not contain your personal details or document images. Your data stays on your own device.

What gets stored on the blockchain?

Only a cryptographic proof that your verification took place, linked to your account identifier. No name, no date of birth, no document images, no address. A business checking whether you are verified receives a confirmation of status - not a copy of your personal information. This is a fundamentally different approach from traditional KYC systems that store your documents in their own databases.

Can I see what information is held about me?

The personal information you enter during verification is held on your own device within the app. You control it. The blockchain record is a proof of verification - it is not a profile of your personal details. The app's code is open source, meaning anyone with the technical ability can inspect exactly how data is handled, what is stored, and what is transmitted. You do not have to take our word for it.

What happens to my data if I delete the app?

Personal information stored locally on your device is removed when you delete the app. The blockchain record that a verification took place remains, as blockchain records are permanent by design. That record contains no personal data - only the cryptographic proof. If you have concerns about your specific data or wish to request deletion of anything held by the cooperative, contact us directly.

Using Your Verified Identity
How does reuse actually work when a business needs to verify me?

When a participating business needs to confirm your identity, a request comes through your ITZA Vault app. You see the request, review which platform is asking and why, and choose whether to approve it. If you approve, the business receives confirmation of your verified status. You are in control at every step - no business can access your verification without your explicit authorization through the app.

Can I refuse a verification request?

Yes, always. Every request requires your active approval through the app. If you do not want a particular business to access your verified status, you simply do not approve the request. Nothing happens without your consent.

What platforms can I use my verified identity on?

ITZA Vault is actively building its network of participating businesses. As integrations come online, verified users will be able to use their status across financial services platforms, digital marketplaces, age-gated services, and other verification-dependent platforms. The full list of active integrations will be published as they are confirmed. Being verified now means your identity is ready the moment a platform you use comes on board.

Does my verification ever expire?

The blockchain record of your verification is permanent. However, individual businesses may have their own requirements about the currency of a verification, particularly in regulated industries. ITZA Vault is designed to be durable, but you may occasionally need to refresh your verification if a specific platform's compliance rules require it. This is still far less repetitive than the current norm of verifying from scratch with every new service.

Trust and Security
How do I know ITZA Vault is legitimate?

ITZA Vault Cooperative is a formally registered Colorado Limited Cooperative Association. The app code is open source and publicly available for inspection. The verification infrastructure runs on the ITZA Blockchain, which is also open source. We publish our methodology, our cooperative structure, and our fund allocation openly. If something about the system seems unclear, we encourage you to ask - contact details are at the bottom of this page.

What if my phone is lost or stolen?

Your app is protected by your device's own security - PIN, biometric, or password. A thief with your phone cannot approve verification requests without passing that security layer. Because personal data is stored on your device rather than a central server, a breach of our systems would not expose your personal information regardless.

Is ITZA Vault trying to replace my existing bank or platform accounts?

No. ITZA Vault is not a financial product, a bank, or a platform in its own right. It is an identity verification layer - a way of proving who you are so that other platforms can confirm your identity without you having to repeat the process from scratch. It works alongside existing services, not instead of them.
